TLDR: Don't use bleach to clean your razor - especially if you are going to soak it overnight.
 
From the thread on YKW, the razor wasn't even second hand, it was just a little dirty on the head.

Hopefully the OP has learnt a valuable lesson - and an expensive one too.

Seriously - what was he thinking? Even barbicide overnight will kill a razor.

I use my espresso clean stuff sometimes (cafetto). It seems to do a good job. But could it do this?!?
 
Yeah, last thing I would use on metals is bleach.
