Restoration

Yesterday I received my 16mm Boar knot from The Golden Nib and finished the restoration of my Victorian silverplate scuttle & brush.

Thank you. It is definitely not a lather hog, but I did not have any problem using it for a three-pass shave. It will even improve after the break-in period. 16-20mm was very common back in the day. Below is a 16mm Badger that I use now and then.

Very nice👍🏻
The smallest brush I have ever tried is Simpson Special with 18mm.
For me it is a wonderful brush but I do not use it anymore as it lose a lot of hairs. Size wise I like 21-24 mm best. 16mm looks small but those 28+ mm monsters😬. I have one budger which I consider to sale. It is wonderful, soft, makes a great leather but after I finish I could shave probably another 2 or 3 times with leftovers. Would be great for ppl trying to finish their soaps quicker😂
