Ha Ha, you won't believe that I have an unsuspecting electrician coming tomorrow. True!

I am not planning anything though as I really am a private sort of person, that is why I post here.

Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shave Soap - Hungarian Lavender
Razor: Gillette L1 Slim - set on 6
Blade: Personna Blue Lab - shave 3
After-shave: SIM balm
Shave Voyeur: None - too late as wife had left for work
Time: Approximately 6 minutes

No I remember why I didn't often post here - I'm so boring ...
 
No time for a shave this morning, trying to work out what was wrong with the site.
 
This, used for the very first time, featured in my SOTD. A lathering champ!

True but it is the drab dullness of your existance that makes the rest of our lives seem so exciting - see you do have a reason for your existance - you make other people look good :)

The Merkur 38C was my first DE, given to me as a birthday gift by my wife in March 2010. Still a great razor, I forget how good it is.

Nice smooth shave. The Mike's really is a great hard soap - and I don't like many of these. The C&E is passable, the D R Harris better but nothing flash, in fact all I've tried are just OK. The Mike's is clearly a cut above them. Maybe it is a factor of the artisan production?

Love the Ogallala too - just make sure that you SHAKE them before use!

I often wonder how we all got started DE shaving.

I got fed up with the cost of carts. I looked into DE at one stage and even had a few bids on fatboys when they were a very reasonable price, but instead decided to have a go at straights. I bought a vintage Kabrand straight from France which came with a box strop without much research. I didn't realise what needed to be done to get one of these sharp enough to use, and it ended up sitting in the cupboard for a few years until I sent it out to GT - whose cupboard I presume it is currently sitting gathering dust?
I might have to get another straight at some stage just to give it a try, but honestly they look like it would take far more care than I would realistically provide.

A couple of years later I found a Boring Accountant's post over at Whirlpool and it reignited interest. Bought the EJ89 when Connaughts (I think) were doing a postage free sale and went on from there.

As for the Ogallala, I was really looking forward to trying them when they came in TP&CTB1. I had already tried to some varieties from the US, but could find no one who would post them over for a reasonable price and wasn't willing to pay the Australia tax. Good job really as I was left vaguely disappointed... maybe I forgot to shake them like a polaroid picture?

Brush: Ian Tang Chinese Silvertip Badger
Soap/Cream: RR XXXt
Razor: Merkur Progress (4)
Blade: Personna Red/IP - shave 2
After-shave: RR Aftershave wax
Shave Voyeur: Son (5) then daughter (3) then wife
Time: Approximately 15 minutes

First time trying both Razorock products. Impressed with XXX soap lather and nice scent to boot. Also enjoyed the RR aftershave wax (essentially a thick balm). Thanks to who it was here that recommended it as I do enjoy a good balm. Soothing and a strong, fragrant scent.

There is a bierhalle in the off-licence section to talk about beers. (Not trying to tell you off, just to let you know it exists, and to try and get some more traffic going that way).

Wish I could join you, but I am stuck with Bighead, Superdry and the like for the forseeable future.

I would simply ignore them fb - you cannot take seriously one who is simply boring and another who is an uncultured philistine. I knew that you meant the 15 minutes included filling in all the headings that have now appeared.

I felt like going cool and Hipster and at 60 well how fashionable could it get (really I just slept in)

Blade: Aussie Spoiler - 1 shave down
After-shave: new Alum from Connaught

Rushed shave and I paid the price. Couple of nicks on bumps around the neck area. Nothing the Alum couldn't handle.
