Congrats mate. You've done your part for the continuing generations of Peach Men. Many years hence they will speak fondly of the great-grandfather who shaved the old way with metal and fat....Son of Peach SOTD
Brush: Plisson L'Occy Synth
Soap: Shaver Heaven Green Tobacco
Razor: Merkur 34C (Chip off the old Block)
Blade: Gillette Platinum
After-shave: Thayers Witch Hazel & Myrsol Blue
Son of Peach (SoP) completed an unassisted shave today. Previous shaves were either done by me or he was nagged to death on the virtues of getting great lather coverage or how to hold the razor to achieve the optimum cutting angle. This time he politely asked me to shut my beak and leave him to do his thing. He chose the above. The only non-negotiable was the cleaning up of the basin upon completion.
The lather started off a bit runny but that Plisson worked it's magic and within no time he whipped up a decent lather. He loves the fragrance @Anthony .
My eyes welled up in tears with his choosing of the 34C. This lad is going places. With extreme care he managed a 2 pass BBS shave without a nick. The razor went in all sorts of directions in negotiating the tricky parts of his face but he's on his way.
Initially he decided on Alt Innsbruk but at the last minute changed over to the Myrsol. A look of self satisfaction in the mirror and he was back to his Playstation. Proud Dad was sitting on the can for the entire time watching his every move and thinking about how fast SoP had grown up.
...and if you were wondering, I could have eaten off that basin after he had completed wiping it down.

This is one classy shave - maybe even a little too much class for the likes of this place.
Is it as seriously nice as it looks?
BTW: great photography too, nice DoF!
Always good to meet another Canon man. The 7D is a formidable beast...esp. married with fast glass (like the 50/1.4). Not many cameras are equal to the challenge of a 3 y.o i-flight, but an absolute doddle for the 7D!!! My old 5D MkII can't compare and is probably only good for eating and sleeping shots, but I so do like the full-frame files it creates.Cheers camera saw a bit of a workout this weekend as my niece turned 3.
..... And yes it is a nice as it looks [emoji39]

Brush: Chubby 2 Best
Soap/Cream: Soap Commander Passion: Teakwood and Cardamon
Razor: NEW LC with Weber Classic handle
Blade: Chrome/Israeli Personna [3]
After-shave: Soap Commander Passion balm
Thanks to @Adam for trading me the SC Passion soap and balm. The face full of bristles that is the Chubby made quick work of the soap. Pleasant scent of teakwood and Cardamon; a spicy scent with a woody base. The balm has a good menthol hit!
Loving the NEW with the slightly longer handle. It makes it more maneuverable. [emoji106]
It's like two brushes worth of hair in the one brush...mammoth! Fairly soft with minor scritch. Certainly left its mark but don't think I'm going to buy one for myself....so you photographic infidel (BOT indeed!)...how do you find the CH2 on the face?
Yeah I imagine it's the sort of brush you just face-butt once to lather for each pass....It's like two brushes worth of hair in the one brush...mammoth! Fairly soft with minor scritch. Certainly left its mark but don't think I'm going to buy one for myself.
Otherwise, I really should get my rear into gear and learn how to use this with this ?Always good to meet another Canon man. Very capable - and not too bad IQ (image quality) for one of the first 1" sensors and fast AF - if I recall. Nice one, get out there and shoot mate.
WTF? I want!!!!!Barrister & Mann - Fougère Aromatiquè (Thanks again Peach)
Really a great soap, Peach was generous, but even so it's lasting forever! Which is great.
Only a few more weeks...WTF? I want!!!!!
