The Morning Shave.
The Crystal Blade was in my 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustable today.
3rd use on this blade. Head & face shave.
A light touch delivered a very smooth shave. This is a very good daily blade for me.
Not sure how this blade would be with 48hr growth.
Anytime I miss a daily shave I always go to the Feather blade.

Another soap sample PIF. This time Taylor of Old Bond Street - Sandalwood
Scent notes: Rosemary, amber, vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli.
The scent is mid-range, (5-6/10) very nice, subtle, with a distinct sandalwood barbershop scent.
The soap easily whipped to a rich dense lather from the bowl. Very good protection.
The soap is quite soft, I found this texture to be very similar to the Australian Jack the Barber Sandalwood cream.

Pre-shave:- Cool Shower
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- Whipped Dog High Mountain Badger in Tall Ivory Resin 24/55mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mike's Natural Soaps ~ Bergamot, Orange & Ylang Ylang
Razor/Blade:- GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf Close Comb 1940-46 / GEM Personna PTFE Coated #1
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerine (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)
Fragrance:- Burberry for Men

The GEM micromatic clog-pruf closed comb is lighter than the GEM micromatic bullet tip, it's pretty harsher shaving against the grain on my neck, and shaves exactly like a Blackland standard base plate on the latest Blackland Sabre v2.0 GEM at L4. Remember YMMV because everybody is different.

The GEM micromatic clog-pruf closed comb felt pretty harsher and uncomfortable throughout the whole shave. It's pretty harsher than the British Ever Ready Streamline 'Jewel GEM razor, which roughly at L3 or very slightly above L3 which is nowhere near L4 on the latest Blackland Sabre v2.0 GEM.

The Morning Shave.

The Crystal Blade was in my Vintage Gillette British Rocket HD today.
4th use on this blade. Head & face shave and still very smooth. No weepers or irritation.
This is part of a Participation challenge with the Viking & Crystal Stainless. As yet both blades are very similar, very good cleans shave daily.

Another soap sample PIF. This time Ariana & Evans – Dos Dalagas Barbera

Scent notes:

Lavender, Mango, Geranium, Blood Orange, Coumarin, Tobacco, Vetiver, Cedar Wood, Hay, Cardamom, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Musk.

The scent is mild, (4/10) subtle. I was expecting a stronger fruity scent. I did get the Tabacco scent this was more forward than the fruits. Being a non-smoker, this may not appeal to everyone taste.
Very easy to whip a rich dense lather from the bowl. Nice slick protection.

The artwork on the package is really amazing, I think was why I was expecting a stronger fruity scent.

Yep, I'm 100% right, the GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf closed comb is harsher than the British Ever Ready Streamline 'Jewel'... Remember, YMMV. Because everybody is different.

I strongly rated the British Ever Ready Streamline 'Jewel' as the L3 or slightly above, and nowhere need L4 when comparing against the Blackland Sabre v2.0.

I rated the GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf closed comb as the L4 or slightly above, comparing against the Blackland Sabre v2.0.

Not only that, but I also rated the GEM G-Bar as the L3 or slightly lower to L2, comparing against the Blackland Sabre v2.0.

And finally, I rated the GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip as the L2, comparing against the Blackland Sabre v2.0.

That's it.... That's all the GEM razors I have in my den, when comparing against the Blackland Sabre v2.0.
