It's really nice: not greasy, leaves my skin feeling great, and the scent is quite subtle, so you can easily pair it with a cologne if that is your thing. I can't believe it isn't more popular, especially as a winter option. You also need only a small amount (pea sized glob), so it is pretty good value.

Shave Report: The Yaqi soaps are made by Master Soap Creations so it provides a top lather performance IMO. From the lather I get a lovely aquatic fougere cologne type aroma, reminiscent of Brut & Cool Water combo, scent strength 6/10. Wonderful clean, smooth, close DFS, near BBS.

The Gear:​

  • Pre Shave: Imperial Glycerine Soap for Shave/Face
  • Brush: RazoRock “ButterScotch” 400 with 24/55 Black Plissoft
  • Soap: DLC-Yaqi (made by MSC) - Malibu
  • Bowl: Yaqi Black Plastic “Duke”
  • Razor: Aylsworth APEX AL6063, Aluminium (37gm; Blade Gap: 0.7 mm; Blade Exposure: 0.05 mm; Handle: 102mm)
  • Blade: My-Blades Platinum (2)
  • Astringent: TN Dickinsons Witch Hazel with T.Tree oil & Menthol Crystals
  • Balm: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Facial Balm
