Blade; Personna, GEM PTFE coated.
Post-shave; Areffa, Discoverer A/S milk.
Cologne;
Moisturiser;
Attar (Perfume Oil);
Shave;
Very nice shave, I look forward to using the Streamline as she gives as smooth a 2 pass BBS (with touch-up/s) as does my Kami. Still deciding on a Grail razor this could certainly up there, but I won’t decide till I get an Alpha Spirit (in Bronze) and compare the “4”’ in contention for this title!! I’m liking the Areffa product but doesn’t surpass Washpool No2 for me, obviously YMMV.

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Valobra Glicerlanolina
Brush: TroyCraft "Nebulish" 30mm Shedding Dog silvertip
Soap: Stirling Lavender
Razor: Wolfman WR4
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ Invisible Fluid, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

This soap normally lives in my travel kit, but I just felt like giving it a run today. The Lavender EO is a lovely natural scent, but I still think the Bergamot Lavender is the most perfect of the Stirling range.

Nice picture info @LesC
Don’t get too hung up, mate. On a holy Grail.
There’s always a new Grail around the corner🤣

My Diplomat is an A2, which by my reckoning is second quarter 1955. @Mark1966 - what say you, oh Lord of Vintage Gillettes?

Yes, the President and Diplomat are effectively the offspring of the 1940s Aristocrats.

That timing is right for the A2

Shave Report: Hendrix Classics & Co - Bond, vegetal soap base made in USA. Scent described as “A crisp clean scent inspired by 007. Perfect for an evening in the Monaco Casinos or a night cap with a Bond lady. It's a blending of bergamot, jasmine, fresh juniper, and patchouli.”. HC&C soaps always give me a lovely rich & creamy medium-high density lather with wonderful performance. Had a nice close smooth shave from the Twig, not a perfect shave though with some irritation around the lower neck.

The Gear:
  • Pre Shave: Imperial Glycerine Soap for Shave/Face
  • Brush: RazoRock Butterscotch 400 with 24/55 Black Plissoft Knot
  • Soap: Hendrix Classics & Co - Bond
  • Bowl: Yaqi Black Plastic “Duke”
  • Razor: Twig, made by Leaf Shave in USA
  • Blade: Vertice Euromax (Silvermax) “Cryo” Sputtered Platinum SE (half DE), made in India (1)
  • Astringent: TN Dickinsons Witch Hazel with T.Tree oil & Menthol Crystals
  • Balm: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Anti Skin Stress Facial Balm
  • After Shave Splash: Guess Effect Cool (+Aloe) AS
  • Moisturiser (Later): Nivea Men - Anti-Irritation AS Lotion

Monday Night 3/2/2025
  • Hot shower
  • Razor : Circa 1930s Gillette New long comb Palmolive give away Made in Canada. (Gold washed brass or copper?)
  • Blade : 1st origin Gillette blade 2nd Wizamet. (3)
  • Brush : Yaqi caramel cats whiskers synthetic.
  • Pre shave : Pears original clear soap.
  • Soap : Omega Eucalyptus.
  • Balm/Toner : T N Dickinson's Witch Hazel.
  • Weight : 55 grams.
Hi all,
Great old time shave this evening with the Gillette New long comb this razor was a promotional give away if you
purchased a Palmolive product.
The razor its self shaves very close as with other early Gillette's I have used.
In my opinion the early Gillette's were far less forgiving than most of the razors that followed.
I first tried the original blade and chickened out after 2 and a half passes ( way to dull meant for a time when men were men).
Much much better with a Wizamet (3) very smooth.
You will notice the different cut outs on the original blade.
The Omega eucalyptus lathered well but dried out a bit to quickly.
And the scent um I think they just wrote the word eucalyptus on the lid and forgot to add it to the soap.
Cheers.
