25 March - SR shave No. 1,923
E eventually got the Titan ACRO T.H-70 finished on the Jnat Kyoto whetstone to shave about as well as the Gold Dollar 66 off the same stone. That took a LOT of work due to the T.H-70's hard steel.
This morning I compared the T.H-70 off Jnat with an identical T.H-70 finished and maintained on diamond pasted balsa. One razor was used each side with sides being swapped with each of my three passes.
Pasted diamond left-hand side - Jnat right-hand side
The difference in edge keenness was only noticed in my fool's pass with the pasted diamond edge out performing the Jnat edge. Other than that, the only difference between the two was in shave comfort where the Jnat edge out performed the pasted diamond edge.
In future, I think I will only do a fool's pass with a diamond pasted balsa edge.
