Shave of the Day - 2025

PXL-20250821-221017478-PORTRAIT.jpg

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Tarkine" shoat
Soap: Czech & Speake (Valobra) - Oxford & Cambridge
Razor: Atelier Durdan Vestige
Blade: Personna GEM Stainless
Post-shave: TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

...(if I can’t get a two pass shave out of a DE razor I don’t rate it too. Highly This is my opinion only of course).
In times past (when I used DE razors), I might have agreed (my blade preference being for Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow and German Wilkie), but now that I have more time on my hands (having taken early retirement) I enjoy taking 3 passes plus touch-ups with the GEM blades and the Atelier Durdan Vestige. A Rolls-Royce shave winning no races, but leaving my hide feeling perfect.

On days when I have some pressing engagement (shudder) the WR4 0.7 and a Proline offer a perfect Ferrari shave with no accidents.
