Didn't do a 'full build' today but still a decent lather nonetheless. British Aristocrat is beautiful to look at and wonderful to use, well balanced well built bling.

Two pass shave with a clean up under chin. Another warm summers day in Melbourne so the Shaver Heaven Summer Breeze seemed appropriate. Very pleasant scent and the bathroom is awash with lather. Routine shave? You bet and it was fantastic.

After shaving with beautifully machined hunks of stainless steel the last few days, it seemed a change was due. After looking through the ranks of DEs more than once, I decided on the Razorock Babysmooth. It's a light Aluminium razor with a safety bar design, and when mounted curves the blade very strongly, which must mean the blade is under significant tension all the time. It's machined rather than cast, then finished with a black anodised coating so the quality of finish is, as you'd expect, very good indeed.

I picked the CRSW soap because I haven't used it in a while and I like it. Likewise the Plisson synthetic. Between the pair of them, I managed to produce a spectacular face lather. It wasn't a full 5 minute lather @alfredus, but I spent what seemed a long time over it, and definitely enjoyed the benefits you speak of. From there on in the Babysmooth did an unassuming but totally competent job of removing all whiskers. It's an interesting exercise in technique, using no pressure with such a light weight razor. Given its ability to tame Feather and Polsilver blades though, applying pressure to the razor could have very unwelcome results.

My conclusion on the razor is that it's an outstanding example of modern razor making - it shaves excellently, being both very efficient and very comfortable, and is so light it's a near no-brainer for a travel shaver. The only real drawback? Razorock's completely broken, illogical manufacturing and marketing model. If you see one of these for a reasonable price secondhand, you could do a lot worse than add it to your collection.

Finished up in pretty much the standard way, except for the sample of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Wow, that scent is so wonderfully Old School.....

Another beautiful shave today and I must admit @Draco Noir I spent today not only 5 min lathering - it felt like I spent 5 min loading as well

How long did it take you to get the razor to balance there long enough to take the photo?

First go with the Slim Twist, a lot more aggressive than I'd been led to believe but a very good result.

Seriously no problem there at all...I wanted to lean it on the soap and it just balanced on its own...

Well @Anthony, if I have anything to say about it, you are absolved. It is confirmed. Yesterday I went with an old favourite soap, then again today Absolution. Three shaves, three passes, novice ATG. Absolution for the first and third. The comfort, protection, glide was replicated on the first and third, where as it was found to be lacking on the second in comparison! It was there just I have found a new bench mark for it.

Tobacco and vanilla... Sounds just like Barberry Coast Havana, which is A-MAZ-ING. Seriously, if you don't like Havana, you don't have a nose. I brought some to the recent Sydney meet, and everyone who tried it LOVED it.
