Razor: Rockwell 6S (3)
Blade: GSB (5)
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 "Pure"
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
After: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C", Natio calming balm

Nice traditional 3 pass shave this morning. One nick near my lip, and a couple of weepers under the neck.
Hardly any irritation this morning, only where the weepers were.
I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this razor. The #3 plate is certainly the sweet spot for me.
When the GSB finally gives up the ghost I might give a feather a go...

Preshave: PAA Ie preshave soap and Proraso Red preshave
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather(1)
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom(May Madness)
Post Shave: Gummy Balm and Old Spice AS
Two pass shave. Near BBS after two passes with one weeper. It was so easy to achieve, great blade-razor combination. The donut at the bottom of my soap tub has increased in size.

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Simpson Commodore X1
Soap : Savon a Barbe Asses Milk Soap
Razor : Nobels AA Japanese Straight
After Shave : Witch Hazel, Irisch Moos Balm

As I predicted yesterday, it's already time for a quick break from the blade longevity test. Since a new razor arrived in the mail yesterday (May Acquisitions Link), the choice was made for me. Went through the usual pre-shave ritual, then lathered up with the Commodore X1 and Asses' Milk Soap. The soap was a "curiosity buy" that @Lifes a Peach and I made many months ago, and it turned out to be a brilliant product - very nice fragrance, excellent glide and cushion, and no secret techniques required (y)

At last the moment of truth - the first pass with the new razor. Hmmm, felt great - smooth and seemingly very sharp. I was disappointed when I checked my face after the WTG pass - it seemed like there was still plenty of uncut stubble. Were my expectations realistic or not? The second pass (XTG) resolved everything - it left my face almost completely BBS, and did so totally comfortably. The short blade was a pleasure to use : no nook or cranny was a problem with its agility. I don't know what the deal was with the first pass - maybe I didn't have the optimum angle, but I don't think so. Naturally I'll do some tests, but I'm thinking I was simply expecting too much

Finished up with some Witch Hazel skin care, followed by the Irisch Moos balm. I don't use the Irisch Moos often. I really like the "Virginia Tobacco" scent, but the balm leaves too much residue on the skin for my liking. It's fixable by wiping the face off a bit later, but that wipes off some of the fragrance as well :(

A satisfying effort today, and the new Nobels razor impressed very much. It's on track to be a favourite :)

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch distressed Culmak reknotted with TGN finest
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Myrsol F/Extra

Hmmm, I wondering if F/Extra should have been before Formula C but am putting that aside for a moment to ponder how this May madness is interesting in highlighting the impacts of different brushes on my lather. Maybe we should use the same soap for a month every month ...

I have noticed this too. Same soap, different brush, different technique/amount of water etc to get the same result.

Nice, @Sxot! I have a soft spot for Tanifuji razors - elite performance and superb finish. Looks like you are quickly getting a pretty classy collection of whisker removal tools (y):)(y) Still fighting the sharp vs smooth fight? It's worth mastering!
