Finished off with the great alum block rub, splash with the witch hazel, then comes the PAA Deja fougere cologne. It feels a little oily, kinda like rubbing a mild oil solution. Left the kind feeling soft to the touch and the PAA aftershave does have a strong staying power.

Not sure about the Satin finished P-DOC but the older ones were chrome plated Zamak I think. Definitely not aluminium. This one might be... Interesting if it is!

Did you shake the bottle before using? Some of the oils tend to float on top, especially in the Bay Rums. Worth giving a good shake before splashing out...

And that's a beautiful SM 2-band. [emoji41]

Ahh it is. Got this from the site directly. It certainly is a very interesting Razor. And again many thanks to @DrBob for loaning this to me.

Erm, I think I gave it a small shake, but I kinda enjoyed the feel though.
It's about 5 hours from my shave, and my skin feels very supple and moist, yet not bad-tempura-oily.

Apologies for the photo, had some lighting issues but I figured I would put it up anyway as no matter what photo I take they always look amateurish compared to @alfredus magnificent photo's that never disappoint. :love:

Second shave with the Kamisori but first shave using the SOC boar brush curtesy of @Psmith. I found the SOC on the upper limit for face lathering for me but then again it is a much larger brush than my trusty 22mm synth. In saying that though it whipped up a nice slick lather in no time and it should keep getting better and better as it getting further broken in.

I was really looking forward to getting the Kamisori out again despite neglecting some new D/E razors that I haven't tried yet. Once again it didn't disappoint, I gave it a quick strop which was oddly calming and enjoyable. I felt like I made some progress from my first attempt though I am really beginning to understand why people say it takes about 100 shaves to become proficient with a straight. I had issues again finding and maintaining the right angle and navigating the chin/jaw line area and the far sides of my neck. I really concentrated on stretching the skin and also realising that unless you get a good solid first WTG pass there is no point moving on the the next XTG or WTG until you do. I guess with a D/E you can get away with it a bit more but with the straight there is no where to hide. I ended up drawing blood 4 or 5 times though nothing serious.

It was once again a very satisfying shave and I found there is something oddly calming but at the same time quite exhilarating about using a straight. I can only imagine the feeling of satisfaction and zen like state that may be achieved when you master it. Long long long way to go but "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - Laozi (c 551 bc - 479 bc) and I'm already at step two, only 9,998 to go! :)

Shave 8-10ish on the London bridge blade today. Started feeling a bit tuggy and uncomfortable on the first pass, but the next two were perfectly acceptable. I'm just putting it down to 3-4 days of growth and will give the blade another chance or two.

*shock & horror* I can see the bottom of the pot in the glacial obsidian. I might have to put in a Stirling order this winter after all.

Alcolado glacial to finish and all was good with the world.

Shaved this morning, ran out of time to post earlier. The GSB pairs much better with the Rockwell at this point for me. The feather felt unsatisfactory to me. Can't wait to give some other soaps a run from now on!

Bit of a rough shave today, some blood letting and minor burns. Had a hard time loading up the shavemac 3band with a hard puck. Back on training wheels. Lather ran thin on second and third pass, clear sign of a not well-loaded brush. Try again tomorrow.

Hmmmm... Tried the advice of @stillshunter and wore L'Occitane's Bavx today with the Rosa Bourbon -Wowee!!! Delight to the nasal cavities. [emoji106] It's going to be a regular favourite this season.
