The process was fascinating to watch and the attention to detail was amazing. That's so cool that he makes a keyring from the same billet of steel he makes the razor out of. He is clearly a master of his craft!

First go with the Jabonman, @Nightguard sir you are right.
It's a very delightful soap. I loved every bits of it. I had so much enjoyment just lathering it. The scent of the Haitian Vetiver is rather unique, it's a earthy and full on smokey vetiver that's for sure. Really reminds me of sipping a good nip of an Islay. Performance was top notch too. Relatively easy to lather, great cushion glide slickness and protection. I really enjoyed it.
Managed to get the hang of the standard today. The best way I could describe it is that it's as if you're just using the blade without a razor to shave. Big on blade feel but not overly aggressive. It's like a floating blade. Although, GSB might not be the best fit for it, I reckon something sharper, like a Feather would perform like a star in this razor. Thanks once again @Osman for the heads up.
Post shave feel of the soap is also one that excels here. Left my skin feeling very good, and as you might recall, I am still recovering from the burns from yesterday but no dramas at all. I achieved an irritation free, relatively close shave without any further damage to my skin. ASB works like magic and the staying power is strong. I'm still smelling the peaty vetiver 2.5 hours after the shave, what took that smell away from me is the islay I have in my glass now. Way to enjoy my Friday. Happy Friday everyone.

Top shave tonight. A new rock arrived for the quarry, a Coticule from Belgium. Loverly stone 175x50 with a 25x50 slurry stone. Combo BBW and Coticule.
Did my first edge off the stone tonight and it is rather good. People rave about buttery smooth etc but all I can say it was a very good close shave. No better or worse than the other hones I have but it was my first razor on the stone. I have a razor I haven't had much luck with in the past so tomorrow I will give it the Coticule treatment, I'm learning some blades respond better to certain hones.
Soap: mine - Tallow/Emu/Clay [I'm still trying to develop a straight razor only soap.]
Synthetic brush
Razor: A Russian one with an etching of the Kremlin wall one the blade.
2 pass DFS with the chance to do it all again tomorrow night.

Seriously, Jabonman is one of the best shaving soaps - top performance and beautiful scents with terrific post shave. The Black label (or Premium range) - like the Haitian Vetiver of yours- are even more outstanding.
It's heavy with cardamom and other spices. It pairs well with L'Occitane's Baux scent.

First time with the Mondial received the other day it is exacyly as described fruity with a woody / spicy scent. The lathering of the soap was easy no issues there got an abundant mass of it on application it initially apppeared a little thin but adding droplets of water helped which surprised me as in the lather in the bowl looked awesome. Once applied no ill effect from the ingredients the scent stayed throughout the shave. Slicknes was good not great but good on 3 passes. The post shave feel feels really good skin feels soft & clean. As a rating I would give it a 7.5 out of 10.
A thing to note and I'm finding this currently as I am trialing and reviewing a soap for someone and have gotten a couple of other guys to review it anonymously with me that no one Wet Shaver gets the same effect or outcome as another in about 95% of the time, thus being the case it does all boil down to each to their own.

The S-1 with the Colossus handle is in my den now permanently due to the generosity of @Draco Noir - and what a difference the handle makes. The razor is super effective and half a day later my skin is still silky smooth - thank you again my friend
My goodness @alfredus - I don't remember the handle being so long when I packed it and sent it. Did you install an extension or is it a post-processing trick?
Big congratulations @saku39 - your progress is wonderful, and I hope it acts as an inspiration to others who are thinking of trying straight/kamisori shaving
@filobiblic, that Leresch #77 razor always makes me do a double take. A beautiful specimen mate!

Totally agree, is a premium product. Easily one of my top shelves line up. A little pricey, but you get what you paid for.
Cardamom mmmm, I have been told by Manuel that once eastern breeze is out of stock, he is releasing it as a premium line. My soap sabbatical until august is going to fail....

Spot on! He gave me a sample of wet earth. If I'm getting, I'd be getting wet earth and eastern breeze. Not just great scents, but great performance as well.

Love those weekend morning shaves, plenty of time to really focus on and enjoy the shave.

And finished with a little DIY lavender balm consisting of a drop of lavender oil in a little water mixed with an unscented balm.
Really nice shave, the latha produced a nice protective lather (lol) with a very calming lavender scent. The V3A seems like a nice razor (only second shave), especially considering this personna is one of my last favourite blades.

Early morning shave with my new Rockwell 6s safety razor since I've waiting for a very long time to get this and I finally got it at last, I'm surprise the weight is quite heavy compared to all the other razors I've own since my all time favorite razor was the Razorock Mission because it has the perfect wieght and balance in my hand. That's why I'm surprise to see this Rockwell 6s and to feel the weight is quite heavy in my hand, however I'm still very concern about this weight when shaving ATG might be a bit tricky under the neck area when apply very little pressure because their is no weight shaving ATG.
I've decided to start using the plate #2 because #1 will not shave propertly for me and it can be very difficult to find the right angle during the shave so that why I've started at #2, trust me I've own a Merkur Progress long handle and I do know what #1 is like is not easy for me okay let move on now with the Rockwell shall we.
This new razor with a Polsilver Super Iridium was amazing at the start of the shave WTG was very smooth and the weight of this razor feels like it has fully taken over cutting my facial hair like bloody magic without applying any pressure at all so far so bloody good, any way the next shave was XTG was a little tricky because of the weight attend to loose some balance when holding it and don't worry it takes a little bit of effort or practice getting used to like a new toy. The XTG shave went okay so far a bit smooth just a little tricky because of the weight that need more work throughout the shave don't worry I'll get there sh#t, now ATG was something else and bloody tricky with this bastard weight that need a lot more work getting used to darn the angle need some mastering in my hand and lucky me the shave was okay a safe without a bloody major blood bath anybody having some issue ATG with the Rockwell 6s please tell me about it.
Overall it's far too early for me to say about the Rockwell 6s IF this razor does get along with me throughout my shave, and don't bet your bloody hopes that I aren't giving up this razor for sale don't even think about it smarty pants not by a long shot

Fourth shave with the Kami and found it very similar to my last shave with it so I'm not going to rehash everything again. Still haven't had a nick free shave but at least it's only happening once a shave now. Both times I've nicked my check as I'm probably a bit over confident till the inevitable happens so I must work on that. This time it happened as I was trying to hit the 30 degree angle as the blade touched my face rather than the far more sensible approach (that Draco advised) laying it against my face then finding the angle. I know, I'm an idiot, I wasn't intentionally ignoring Draco's advice, just a momentary lapse in concentration which cost me the nick free shave I'm chasing. At least it was for a different reason than last time (being too much pressure) but it was completely avoidable and something I don't intend on repeating......hopefully.
Although I'm right hand dominate I write left handed and have always been a bit ambidextrous so while the left doesn't feel quite as natural as the right it's been coming along nicely.

@Nightguard sold it here last November for a very generous price and I had to take the opportunity.Now another member here has an itch for the Chubby and I decided to pass the brush on, so he can scratch it
I have been waiting for weeks now to try the soap @bald as and I made - but I have to wait 2 more days. I just wanted to use one of my all time favourite soaps for this occasion - and Mike's Bay Rum is just that. The lather was pure heaven - picture here.
I seem to come to terms with the long handle ATT - a super silky smooth and relaxing shave with just a tiny weeper at the end - as if the razor wanted to remind me, that it some bite...
Emu Oil had been recommended to me by @Draco Noir a couple of weeks ago, and today tried it out. Not so much into your face post-shave heaven like Olive Oil, but 10 hours after the shave, it still feels like heaven - so a great addition to the den!

Nice traditional 3 pass this morning. Tried an Astra for the first time in the open comb. Was pretty good, felt like it was roughing a little on the first pass. Seemed much better on the second and third.
The St James made a nice lather, but the scent was barely there.
Overall, a good shave with barely any irritation and very close to BBS!
