Love the look of your razor, is that Abalone shell used for the scales?Sunday 18 December 2016

Mastro Livi KamiRazor
Sunday shave is always special because I usually have more time to spend on it, so I can plan it carefully, spending more time choosing a soap, aftershave and the rest. This time I opted for this Mastro Livi KamiRazor in CarboInox and Abalone scales, that is a kamisori blade mounted on scales. It was quite a long time I was not using Valobra soaps: today I saw the jar in which I am keeping it and I thought it was the time. I remembered it is a soap I like and my memories were right. As I was using an Italian soap, the aftershave had to be Italian as well. A glance at the aftershave bottles and I opted for Pino Silvestre, a classic Italian fragrance of old times. It was a very good shave, after all.

I was thinking this very same thing about MW yesterday. I pushed it a little too far and had it disappearing on my face by the end of the pass.Brush: Chubby 2 Best
Soap: Mystic Water - Eucalyptus and Spearmint
Blade: Lone Wolf 6/8 F.Hollow round point
Strop: Kanoyama #30'000
That Mystic Waters sure is an unusual lather. When fully hydrated, it's thick and sticky, but still quite viscus. If I go too far the lather runs out of the brush ends up on the bench between passes! I find it almost impossible to get air into this lather. My other soaps I can do my entire face with the lather building up on the blade. With MW, it drips off (usually onto me!) before I get halfway through a pass (which is when I usually wash the blade). Still slick, and performs pretty well. #mustjustbeme
