I've being going hard with the Rockwell / Lord Racer combo recently and getting 10 x 3 pass DFS+ / BBS shaves per blade. I don't quite know how or why but it works! It cut me for the first time in about 30 shaves today but I was getting really negligent with technique trying to see just how careless I could be!
The C&E soap is not my best (mainly due to a lack of slickness) but it's not at all bad by the same token and doesn't deserve a bad rap in my view - I get a thick, dense lather by starting with a soaked and dried boar and adding water from there. It just doesn't get that shine to it of my better soaps - but it was a perfectly serviceable shave today. And the scent is amazing for those that like that sort of thing.
As much as I like this brush, I find myself wishing for my Omega 48 pretty much every shave now when I don't use it. I remember someone on another forum saying that with Omegas, it's a case of the bigger the better. That rings true for me - the 48 is a big step up over the 49 and Proraso brushes. The greater size and higher loft of the 48 gets the bristles doing more of the work and the lather development is faster and better, with less pressure required at the same time. And softer than any other brush to boot - as well as the perfect amount of backbone with the stiff bristle. It uses no more soap from my shave sticks than smaller brushes for a better lather outcome. Holding the handle with one's fingers around the knot seems to be the secret. If I had my time again, I would just get a 3 brush rotation of Omega 48s...

post shave the thayers is a staple, then I go between splash and balm depending on weather.

The P&B Sanskrit soap is perfect for chilly winter nights - an intoxicating scent.
Lather was protective and had excellent glide and post shave feel. Three passes for a very smooth and close shave.
The funky Erik Kormann Steampunk finished things off nicely. Hey - what's not to like about violets and candy-apple?

The mystic soap has lost a lot of scent strength over the last 3 years but what is left is very nice indeed!
Performance of mystic is just awesome! One of my all time favourite artisan soaps. Always a delight to use!!

There was thread a week or two ago discussing 'if you had to choose one razor' 'desert island' scenario. Ridiculous I know. What wet shaver has only one razor? Anyway I chose the Brucke and today it reminded me why. Best shave I've had for a week or two. Reminds me why we chucked the cartridges and do it 'properly'. Very enjoyable.
Razor pictured with double strop I had my saddler make up for me. Cow hide top strop and kangaroo bottom strop.

Another great shave. I just love big brushes! Using the stick allows me to use the same amount of soap in different brushes and the bigger versions generate more lather, quicker compared to the smaller ones. No more soap required. Although going any bigger than this in badgers would just make things unwieldy for me.

Really nice shave with the MJ90 - the razor is mild, and therefore the angle of attack is narrow. But with the right angle and a bit of clean-up I got a very close result. The brush is now getting truly heavenly and produced some stellar Mystic Water lather.
