I think this is very true, but the truth is derived from my original supposition, namely that many people are used to simple fragrance oils which are vastly less complex than the fragrances you encounter in perfumery and are more instantly appealing due to their lack of complexity and olfactory challenge.

The L'Oreal Hydra Sensitive Aftershave Balm with Birch Sap 125ml is only available at Coles for around $12 or $13 I think??, you only need a small amount which goes a very long way here a picture below what is looks like at Coles not all supermarkets do have them depends where you look and the label is slightly different

I can assure you that in this instance you couldn't be further from the truth. Also my partner found Lixiviant to be rather unpleasant to the point she asked me not to wear it around her. And she commonly wears brands like Chanel, Guerlain and Tom Ford. So does she not like it because she's ignorant and not experienced with high quality fragrances? I think not. Then you have the case with @Nightguard not enjoying Australians All. Is this because he is only "used to cheap and budget priced synthetic fragrance oil 'compositions', having no experience of high quality materials and essential oils". Again i dont think so. Not everybody is going to think everything you come up with is a masterpiece and thats OK! But to call people that dont like one of your scents ignorant and say they have not experience with high quality fragrances is completely wrong.

This will be the last i say on this matter and i must stress this is not a personal attack on @todras. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and i respect that. This is simply mine.

I have good set of high quality essential oils and synthetic fragrances from my candle making procrastination hobby, and when I make shaving cream (or candle for that matter) I much prefer synthetic fragrances, they just work much better and are far more pleasant (at least for those I have), and synth fragrances are probably easier on the skin as well.

I think there is a big difference between soap making, candle making and making perfume. I personally do not use or like fragrance oils at all, I find them quite cloying, but I realise that people have a use for them and certainly some people prefer them to Essential oils and aroma chemicals.

Yeah I never made soaps (not yet ;-) ) it s probably quite different. I have only used essential oil Sandalwood for my first batch of shaving cream, various dosages, and is was not accurate, then I used a synthetic fragrance sandalwood and the result is absolutely spot on (and I know Sandalwood, i worked with it).I much prefer using natural/organic products when I homemade( as it s the main purpose of the exercise) but I am not sold on essential oils (at least my Sandalwood one)

Post-shave: TSW sampler

A nice face scrape tonight, again with the new SS General... No cuts or weepers, just a good clean 2 pass shave. I'm going to try a longer handle for the next shave, my pinky is missing it's usual spot just under the base ~ no point in trying to get used to a tiny short handle if I don't have to.

3rd use of the P30 blade, let's see how long we can go before it starts tugging....
