Shave of the Day Thread - 2018

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch (Tallow)
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 Tungsten Steel (8)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Guerlain Vetiver EdT

Had a five day growth, due to an annoying skin break-out that required me to avoid shaving. Given the heavy growth, I chose a combination that would be efficient with same, but not too aggressive on my skin. For me, the Merkur Futur on setting 2 fits the bill nicely. I also chose a comforting skin-friendly soap in the Haslinger Schafmilch (Tallow), and the cloud-soft Rooney Silvertip brush.
Plenty of dense, slick lather was generated, and the combination of the Futur razor and P74 blade effortlessly reduced my beard to a DFS in two passes, and did not upset the apple-cart with my skin. Happy days!
Looks like you’re running very low on the Haslinger Schafmilch tallow version @TomG I hope you’ve got some more in your den, because they don’t make any more tallow version, only vegan version.

A shave after three days. No, I wasn't lazy, I wanted to test i) ByLuna foroafeitado with long whiskers (as there is a new run of it soon), and ii) performance of the timeless 0.95 oc with a feather in these circumstances:

razor: Timeless 0.95 scalloped oc / Ufo goliath prototype
blade: Feather #1
brush: Rudy vey / Shavemac two band
soap: ByLuna Foroafeitado limited edition
splash: AP Reserve idoru

just needed 1 pass to look perfectly shaved, but I went for three to get a real bbs. Everything worked perfectly. I really enjoyed the soap, very good performer, the razor/blade performance and smothness, and Idoru's cypress and a bit woody scent. That's a scent I will miss in the future... :(

Pre-Shave: @nsavage pre-shave, cold water
Razor: GameChanger 0.68
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (1)
Brush: Shavemac ATG 2017 LE
Lather: Mike's Lime
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
We have here today 36C - definitely qualifies as a Lime day and the Mike's lather was just phenomenal.

Also my first outing with the GameChanger - as expected a mild but still efficient razor - a very enjoyable shave with a very happy and smooth face at the end.

I hope you all have a terrific Thursday (y)

This Razor/Blade combo works so well. (y)

Pre-shave: Shower, Glycerine
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Tuxedo
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven - Barbershop
Razor: Rockwell 6C (3)
Blade: Gillette 7'Oclock-SP (4)
Post-shave: Cold water splash, TSW After Balm

The last 2 shaves have only been 1 pass shaves, still enjoying this blade.

Pre: Hot shower, Crew oil
Razor: Gillette Slim H 1 1962 (5)
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Bowl: Handmade bowl, Mk1
Brush: RazoRock Silvertip Synthetic
Soap: Proraso Green
Post: Proraso Green Shave Lotion
Left work early due to the fires near my work. Freshend up with the good old trusty Proraso Green.

Top shave tonight even though I had one of those "I don' really feel committed to a shave tonight" moments.

My mood was lazy if I'm totally honest so a straight razor shave with all the trimmings was out of the question. :)
I had recently strayed from the spices isle to the shaving stuff isle in my local Indian grocer and out of curiosity picked up a tube of Dettol shave cream. Under $4. Big in India not so much here in Australia. The lather was extremely good, the scent was sought of "Dettolish and the performance was excellent. A really good soap with a straight razor. I spread about 2 cm over my face and used a damp brush and produced a great lather. I would say a really good travel soap.

Single pass with a few touch ups and a comfortable irritation free DFS
Invicta full hollow 6/8"
Dettol shaving cream
Damp badger brush. With cream a badger is very worthwhile.
Small amount of Almond oil on hands and rubbed into skin.

Good result

Steve
