TOBS has flown under the radar for decades in my case, having encountered some fairly average expressions back in the seventies. Reading @Monsta_AU's glowing review persuaded me to take another look. Jermyn St has a fantastic scent that just goes on and on.

+1 (y) really enjoying the shave, scent and post shave feel. Still moist but not oily at the end of the day. The aftershave has an unusual deep burn for a sensitive product. No irritation just a very warm burn like fortified wine.

The shave felt off, patchy, not quite right. Based on feel of shave I would've said the blade isn't right for the razor. Based on result........perfect. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Turn-N-Shave Full Moon knot
Soap/Cream: Stirling Ramblin' Man
Razor: Smart-Helix Apollo Light (Aggr.)
Blade: Gillette "The Spoiler" (4)
Post-shave: Pinaud Clubman Musk
Fragrance: Nil

Day 3 for the Spoiler was a run in the Blackbird, and a genuine BBS result. Deciding to rotate through the remaining razors and the Apollo was next. Again, a DFS+ shave.
These blades have a reputation for longevity, so will keep using it until it hurts. Really impressed with these (this) blade; am I blinded just because they came for free and are vintage? I don't think so, these few shaves are about my best ever. I've read that the 7 O'Clock Yellow 'Sharp Edge' are the modern incarnation of the Spoiler, so must try one again soon for comparison .

I can't say I've heard that comparison before, but I'm a recent fan of the Yellow. They don't necessarily last that long for me, but there is not one blade that ever does. Wire whiskers and daily head/face shave to BBS probably have something to do with that. Perhaps not quite as smooth as a Polsilver, but sharper, and a very pleasant amount of blade feel. I've just used up or given away my remaining sample tucks, but I've got a bulk order on the way...

Today's SOTD was a bit rushed, so no tree-stumps or fallen logs today...

Pre-shave: Hot water
Brush: Forgotten Art "Tarkine" 26mm Tuxedo
Soap/Cream: WK Chypre Rose Concerto
Razor: Razorock GC-JAWS
Blade: Polsilver SI (1)
Post-shave: Shower

The Polsilver is another magic partnership for the JAWS, delivering a buttery DFS+ despite the fact that I was in a hurry and didn't deserve it. The soap is slowly inching toward its donut of death. I don't know why I'm looking forward to that...

Can't beat the old tallow base, Speedmaster - wonderful stuff. Equivalent postshave to MWF, but a piece of p*ss to lather.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club LE 2012 Mixed Badger/Boar
Soap: Stirling Varen
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Platinum Royal (5)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; APR les généraux du grand livre
Scent: Caron Yatagan EdT

I was entigued by the Stirling shaving soap Varen, so thought I'd give it a shot. Varen is Dutch for fern, and the soap was developed by Stirling for a Dutch wetshaving Forum. Wow - it certainly has presence! It is a deep, dark fougère scent, with lashings of oakmoss, but just enough green notes to prevent it being gloomy. I really like it. The performance from the soap was excellent, as I've come to expect from Stirling.
I paired the aftershave and fragrance to match the soap, and it worked rather well.

So if the this style of scent appeals to you (and yes; I'm looking at you, @Mark1966 and @alfredus ;)), it may be worth a try.
