I mistakenly left this SR in Cebu when I departed for friendlier shores. My good Filipino friend posted it to me and it arrived yesterday. This is my most treasured SR as it takes an edge like no other. A Gold Dollar W59.

I put this razor through a full diamond pasted balsa strop progression yesterday afternoon and went to bed early so as to be able to shave early this morning.

It has been 8 months since I last shaved with this beauty and again it did not disappoint me.

Keeping to the French theme palm honed the TI#69 on a coticule.
The edge was sharp but not buttery smooth as expected.

This morning I was sorely tempted to shave again with my Gold Dollar W59, the same as yesterday. The Ralf Aust ⅞ was booked in for Christmas morning. Knowing that the Ralf Aust would punish me later if I didn't shave with it on Christmas Day, I overcame my temptation and chose it together with tallow Tabac.

Another smooth and comfortable shave, like the W59 but different.

After the shave, I maintained the edge on my mini 0.1μm pasted balsa strop so as to get use to using the mini when traveling.

Boxing Day shave with a Revisor 6-0035 off 0.1μm diamond pasted hanging balsa strop, stropped on clean leather, Proraso green cream face lathered with Chinese synthetic brush. Normal three-passes, WTG + 2 x XTG plus fool's pass for a DFS+ result.
