Shave Report: Used a rounded quarter teaspoon (about 1.6gm) scoop of soap to generate a lovely shiny creamy lather. The lather gave an excellent performance. From the lather I get a sweetish citrus aroma that is orange/mandarin/grapefruit forward and the lemonish background scent is hidden to my nose, scent strength 4/10. The Hawk with the Kai blade on it’s 8th use shaved smoothly and cleanly to give a wonderful DFS.

- Soap: Alexander Simpson Bay Rum Ultra-Glide Shaving Cream
- Bowl: Face Lather, gotta love using creams
- Razor: Gillette Flare Tip Rocket
- Blade: Wilkinson Sword German with five shaves on it
- Splash: Thayers Witch Hazel Unscented Toner
- Balm: Alexander Simpson Bay Rum Post Shave Balm

The result:
I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with vintage razors, now I know, the Gillette Flare Tip Rocket is an absolute cracker of a razor, so easy to shave with and a great result, it actually puts a lot of modern razors to shame.
Looks like I have a new passion to indulge in.
