Shave Result:
First time using the Black Ship Kaito vegan base and the soap texture is soft like a cream. The soap easily generated a rich creamy medium to heavy density lather with excellent performance and great after shave skin feel. To me the scent is a charming blend of floral and green aromas, scent strength 4/10. Overall a smooth clean DFS from the Henson + Nacet combination.

  • Brush: Yaqi “Janis” with 24/52 Yaqi Cashmere
  • Soap: Black Ship Grooming Co - Siren’s Song
  • Bowl: Yaqi “Duke”
  • Razor: Henson AL13 Mild V2
  • Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
  • Splash: TN Dickinsons Witch Hazel with menthol&tea tree oil
  • Balm: Lucky Tiger Vanishing Cream
  • After Shave: 4711 Jasmine CDT Spray
  • Moisturiser: Nivea Men Creme (Face-Body-Hands)

Heh, just as I imagined I might be the only fan of this soap here. And only days since I finished my last tub... :facepalm:

Post-shave: Shower, Castle Forbes Lavender balm, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge cologne
COTD: Mocha Matari, Yemen

... And again, with image recycled to protect the environment. Every time I use this soap, I'm more and more grateful that I managed to snag a few backups before it became totally unavailable.

When you say that this is "unavailable" was this an older/better formulation? It seems to still be available on their website: https://www.czechandspeake.com/fragrance/product-category/all-grooming/shaving-soaps/

Yep, this one is a fantastic soap made by Valobra before they shut up shop a couple of years back. The new version is an all-sodium formula that notoriously doesn't lather worth a damn and doesn't even smell the same. When Valobra closed down, lots of people descended on remaining stock like a plague of locusts, and as far as I know it's all gone.

Yeah. Well, no. "Like" only begins to say how I feel about lavender. :LOL: I have a little bottle of wild Greek lavender EO that you might like. It's a different species, Lavendula stoechas, and it has camphor notes to the eyeballs, really funky.

Shaver Heaven Arctic Mango is perfect for the hot Australian summer. Such a great soap and scent.
