* In what I hope to be the spirit of the moment, I should really start calling this brush "takayna". Interestingly, they don't capitalise indigenous place names in Tasmania.

The spiraling safety bar looks like its for stropping does it play any part in the shave?

Thanks, it's a nice razor, a bit top heavy as it's built like a tank.
Actually the safety bar plays no part in the stropping, it acts like a normal safety bar only it rotates. It also has a screw adjustment on the back to push the bar backwards and forwards to change the efficiency. The Pall Mall has the same thing, great razors.

This brush and the case are beautiful no doubt about it but what a beautiful knot. There are very few that surprise me but this one is cliche'"heavenly"
I could feel how soft and luxurious when squeezing out the water and dense without being a lather hog. Just gorgeous thanQ @nsavage
