Yeah but back then I was still on the lookout for a sharper, smooth blade. Found a couple since, but seem my skin doesn't tolerate the sharper stuff day in day out.
 
The full circle comment seems to be uttered by a few blade dudes from time to time. I'm sure with a bit of research I could find one or two by RM, the Guru of Blade Dudes himself. Why don't you all just face the facts and admit that they're all pretty much of a muchness.

By the way I'm sure darling Gillard has used a few on her face. There's something really strange about that woman. It wouldn't surprise me if she turned out to be a tranny. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

/Edit used a splodge of spearmint cooler today. Nice whack of menthol in there, first time I have felt the 'menthol cooling' when I rinsed my face afterwards.

Having no faith in the postal service and assuming my Damaskeene wasn't going to arrive in time for a shave I proceeded with the following:

Travel brush with TGN best knot

Tabac cream: You've really gotta try this stuff. As good as any cream and a great scent. Don't actually think it smells anything like the soap.

Black Beauty with Shark on No2

Although the the adjustable feels enormously heavy compared to the bakelite nonetheless a great result. Of course 5 min after I finished..........the Damaskeene was in my hands. Typical.
 
Does the tabac cream smell anything like the cologne? Sniffed it in a chemist and hated it instantly.

hating Tabac is a capital offence in shaving circles - I'd suggest keeping quiet

Cella
Black brush (I suspect from the tangled mess it dries in it is a boar of some kind) works great with the cella.
Clog Pruf shave 4 blade (time to change)
finish with the Slim and Feather and a splash of Musgo.
Perfect start to the weekend.

I don't know as I've never tried Tabac cologne or any other for that matter. It's a pretty strong scent and I can imagine people not liking it. Have you got Tabac soap? Please say yes otherwise you're in capital offense territory.

Third shave the GBE in the HD rocket yesterday.
It really hit it's stride. I find the GBE harsh at first, then gets better and lasts for at least 6 shaves, it's like it needs stropping on your face or something before coming good.
Tabac soap and the poor old maligned 1305.
Ended up being BBS except for the trouble spots, but I wasn't even trying for a close shave, I just did 3 passes and no touch ups like I would do if aiming for DFS or BBS, so a bit suprised. I don't think my upper lip has ever been so BBS. Just the jawline was the catch, but like I said, wasn;t even trying, so no skin stretching or face making or touch ups.

I find it weird people even talk about shaving pjotr and mark! Let alone video and photos of it!

yeah, I get that too.

Funny when you encourage a mate to try DE and they have that epiphany and the next couple of times they meet you all they talk about is shaving and stuff - with everybody around you looking on weirdly!

No. I have no Tabac products. I had a whiff of the cologne and was quite amused to find it smelled so bad, given the rave that goes on about it.

I'm speechless. There is simply no better lather than Tabac (or Speick for that matter). Period. No gentlemanly IMHO. No YMMV (it's a horrible acronym anyhow). I guess now you're gonna tell me you haven't got any Speick either.
 
To be honest the scent is take it or leave it. I certainly wouldn't use it for a cologne.
By choice that is, even if I rinse my face a lot after using tabac soap, it will linger and come up again if you start sweating, it stays for a while unlike most soaps. It kind of makes it a pain as you can;t use any other cologne after shaving with it really.

That said the soap is awesome for shaving with, and that thing I said about it sticking on you all day long doesn't really happen anymore with my year old puck, it's lost a lot of scent, enough for it to be pleasant and doesn't hang round too long any more.

but That soap at full strength would just be too much, so I would never use a tabac aftershave or cologne.

I have a stick of Speick.

You puritan idealists; I dislike Tabac and am proud of it!

I also love Semogues - not just for the handle.

I have not yet tried Tabac soap and it may lather like a muhfucker but if it smells anything like what I found in the cologne then I'm happy without it.
