Shave of the day

Doesn't anybody shave here anymore? I know it's not exactly attention grabbing but nonetheless. I've got all the razors, brushes, soaps/creams I want so this is all that's really happening for me. I know, it's really sad.

What can I say? I've one razor 2 blades and you've all heard about my fab brushes.

Seriously, I've got a lot of shit going on at the mo and time is short.

Merkur Progress
Treet blade
Proraso soap
LE Smoggie Hoggie
Jack Black AS

Very nice shave almost BBS.

Coupla shaves:

Speick and La Toja
Vulfix 2189 boar/badger
Streamline GEM PTFE No 3 and 4

Speick is amazing stuff. So, in a different non tallow way, is La Toja. I think I'd have problems from a lather point of view blindly picking one from the other. I think I'll have another SE run with the Clog Pruf now.

Last 4 days
mwf
omega boar
Gem featherweight with same blade for 4 shaves

Feels like starting again after disposables.

This morning I Cella'd up with my normal tools, blade was a 4th shave 7OC Black.

Feels a bit uneven around the chin now, but a comfortable shave. Damn Cella leaves my skin nice. Maybe I should call myself a soft soap guy now?

Tabac today
omega boar
Gem FW with new blade

I think I like the tabac better than the mwf but early days yet.
Just for today's record, I think the proraso is better than both.

This time of year tabac is a "no brainer". One of the best soaps ever, but it really does hang around all day, no matter how many times you rinse your face, you'll be sweating tabac on a warm day working out in the sun in summer.
So it's only days like that I'll be using MWF, but most of autumn and all of winter I'll be mostly using tabac.
I haven't shaved yet, but it will be a micro matic clog pruf on an old blade, the horsey brush and tabac soap.

Being an old blade though I might give la toja another go because I ain't going for a close shave anyway. Crazy hey? anticipation!

Proraso soap. Not a fan of this as I can't seem to load enough to get a decent lather.

GEM with fourth use blade for m first pass, then a DE Progres swith Treet on its third use to finish.

Floid AS for that menthol kick.

Sounds like another TM conversion!

and I've also taken to warming the water. 'Cold tap only' is getting too cold.

Tabac (stick) again today, I get what you/everyone says about the scent. I don't mind scented stuff if it works, but I'd choose unscented if the option was there.

Still working on the soap lathering business, I think I did alright today.
It was the 2nd shave on the gem blade and was very nice. I didn't get that 2nd shave niceness with MWF, but probably my fault in unfamiliarity of soap lathering.

Back on topic.

I don't know how you do it without hot or warm water, Bodge.

Using warm water makes my beard softer and reduces the damage I do to my skin.

Even in summer, I use warm/hot water.

Same here. Although there are people that swear by it, logically it makes no sense.

Coupla shaves:

Vie Long horsey 2x
Speick then Tabac sticks
7O'Clock bakelite with Shark

Nannys ti-tree and eucalyptus soft soap, shark blade, and floid added to the regular EJ89, and FS brush.

Nanny's soaps are ok, but I just don't seem to be able to get the best out of them, so keep an eye out soon for those who might want to try it. That and I don't appear to like the sharks either.

I had to cold water shave when I was in Malaysia, and I didn't find it a great experience. I am with the others and feel that most of the time some hot water is required.

Not sure about replying to my own post, but BOT...

La Toja, Lord Platinum, and Floid. Nice shave, menthol is currently doing its thing, feeling good.

and again... are you all off on holiday or something?

There wasn't quite enough tea tree and eucalypt soap left in the old spice mug this evening, so I supplemented it with the leftover Erwin Jagger sandalwood cream sample I still had left from when I bought the razor.

To me the EJ sandalwood cream smells nasty, I thought the tea tree and eucalypt would mellow it down, but alas no. I've not tried any other EJ consumables other than the sample cream, and as, but I won't be buying new stuff in a hurry.

EJ 89, Lord Platinum, FS finest, and for a change back to Speick AS.

The Voskhods have finally made it inside the house - I might actually get to use one tomorrow. It'd better feel like angels licking cream off my face or I am going to have to have words with one or two of you.

I haven't shaved since Friday. Hence no posts. Back to work tomorrow so I will enlighten you then.
I suspect it will be some combo of proraso soap, Wilkinson blade from GT and a brush of sorts. Badger I'm guessing.
Anyway let's see what tomorrow brings.

Same old stuff.
Took the SE blade and dropped it into the Bullet Tip (dont think I will go back to the MM for awhile)
Cella'd up and scraoed away.
Used the Slim with the Feather in it for the second pass and all was well.
I am thinking of lashing out on some WMF and Tabac as evryone seems quite keen on these two. (and anyway I have not bought anything for ages - the price of razors has gone through the roof on ebay _ I am so glad I got my stash when I did or I would be like Drubbing - one razor one blade - not that there would be anything wrong being like our noble senior mod). :)

If you're going to lash out on some soaps I'd suggest Speick and Tabac instead. The only thing Speick's got against it is the fact that it only comes in stick form but that's nothing that a decent grate can't fix.

Now you're dangerously and way off topic.

Back off topic, I'd second this, but I have no time for MWF. Even when I could get it to look like lather it wasn't that good. I used Speick today and it's brilliant as always. Can't get on with sticks, so grate it.

Nothing wrong with that, I'm very popular amongst myself.

Is there anywhere local to buy the Speick, or should I wait and add it to a later online purchase?

I like the AS so presume I would like the soap too.
