Shave of the day

From what I've read there is a famous place in Singapore called Mustafas - this is apparently a place that sells loads of stuff but its also known as THE place in SIN to get shaving gear. I dunno if you'll have time to get to see it but I've read repeated reports that they have a fair bit of stuff and it's very, very cheap.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for, thanks mate. I think we're going to be in Singapore for about six hours on the way back from Cambodia, and this place looks like it's a convenient 20 minute drive from the airport. I'll try to stop in there and find some cheapies.

Ah thats great! I was afraid you'd not have enough time. No apparently its very well known and LOADS of other stuff there so the missus should be able to find things too. But I've read loads of reports that this is the best place by far to go get stuff in SIN, so hopefully you'll be set! Look forward to hearing how you go. :-)

P.160 Tipo Duro
Vie-Long Horsey/Badger
Gillette Slim
Perma Sharp Super (2)
Proraso Splash

Second shave with the Slim. It is a whisker assassin. Could the 34C end up on notice :amazed:

Shave 4 this morning with the Polsilver S/S, didn't have the legs. Finished the shave but binned it afterwards.

Been shaving every second day with the same 7oC black, testing its longevity. 7th shave today. The first 4 were great, ending today with an acceptable shave but struggling through the tough stuff. It's of current production and I like this blade. It's definitely a different beast than the 7oC blue.

Bloody good blade. Not too expensive and as you say, it's in production which is probably why it hasn't taken on mystical properties.

I thought I'd have a complete change tonight.

R41
Super Max blade
GFT Coconut cream
Semogue LE2011 boar

A standard two pass shave and I must admit the results were fantastic.
Smooth and very enjoyable. I never thought such a reasonably low end blade would give a result like this. I'm curious to see if it has legs or if it's a one hit wonder.

Merkur 34C w/ Shark SS, Blobby Foo and Godrej cream. I'm really liking the addition of an alum block to my shave routine, it's been good to get some stinging feedback about where I've been overzealous with my blade pressure. I tried a sample of Meehan Bay Rhum with this shave, and goddamn, it lit my face up like nothing I've felt before. Serious burn with longevity, not unpleasant, but unexpected! Maybe the lanolin in the Godrej irritated my skin a bit first. The lasting power from this aftershave was surprising too, I shaved before dinner and it was still lingering when I went to bed six hours later. I thought it was a pretty standard and unremarkable bay rum overall, but comparing it to Clubman Bay Rum, the lasting power was impressive.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to move away from alcohol based aftershaves as they seem to antagonise my skin a little. I think my Xmas present to myself is gunna buy an Omega boar and some Speik AS.

Grabbed my Proraso today. Gee it is great!

About the third day with my Eclipse Red Ring and Wilkinson Sword blade (not sure where I got it from).

Can't wait til my Osage Rub arrives...

Had my first TM shave today!

Was very good, mowed down 2 days growth with ease. Hit up the Proraso for the first time recently, very fresh.

Allin all was a vey very quick and fuss free shave :)

Ack...GT's head will swell even further after seeing that Lynchy.

Palmolive gut 2,2
Semogue 830 - lathered it's way out of a wet paper sack!
Slim (6/4)
Permasharp Super (3)
Dickies Witch hazel
Nivea ASB "Sensitive" 'cause that's how I roll

It's stupid how good that Palmolive stick is for 99p. A couple more shaves to go and then I'm looking forward to trying the Slim with Derby. Gut feel is that I will need to come back at least one setting.

.

Not at all SYD. I am merely the catalyst that will enable those stuck in their black ways of single razor shaving be uplifted unto the light and Gorious Majesty of TM shaving. Choice of the Gods great and small.

Repent while ye may oh ye who follow the sinful path of solitary (razor) pleasure!.

See no swollen head there was there.

Tell me about it. All I can handle is Anti Irritation Exteme Comfort Aftershave Balm from Nivea. Used to like their alcohol based stuff. I think it's the alcohol but now their Sensitive Balm (not exactly He-Man stuff!) doesn't agree either.

What a bunch of wooly wooftas. Have I joined the Men with Sensitive Skin board? Whats wrong with shaving and whacking on a good splash of Metho tightens the skin and the ladies who take a good sniff of it literally fall into your arms.

Man up gentlemen. :)

Sounds like advanced stages of the Thomas Method. We are all just rookies!

That's the second time I've seen this word used willy-nilly.

Do we need to start banning people for using that word?

Not at all. We use it in a much different context to other places on the interwebs.

They use it as an oxymoron. Basically because they are a bunch of oxygen-thieving morons.
