Face lathering for me. Prime reason is that typically shave in the shower, using a fog-resistant mirror. I am sh*t-scared that I'd drop my precious DR Harris bowl! I use this for soaking my brush and razor pre and post shave.
Also, I feel that the more time that the brush is on the face, the better the lather works into the whiskers.
-Using creams feels a bit like taking a shortcut to me and there isn't the huge range of artisan products like there is with soaps.
One thing about my entry into straight shaving is that it does eliminate my desire to shave in the shower. Just the thought of what might happen if I dropped the razor...![]()
