First cook up of the holiday soap fest.
Ingredients: Stearic, Castor Oil, Tallow (Beef), Avocado Oil, Lanolin, Kokum Butter, Jojoba Oil, KOH, NaOH, Glycerine, Tussah Silk, Water (RO).
Essential Oils: Blue Tansy, Lavender, Geranium, Juniper Berry, Spearmint, Bergamot, Sandalwood & Vetiver.
Blue Tansy is a variety of chamomile and is what gives the soap it's blue colour. Blue Tansy is noted for it's skin care benefits and calming qualities.
Initial lathering was very nice. Doesn't explode into lather, takes a little work and plenty of water but gives up a rich and creamy lather that I'm looking forward to trying with a shave tomorrow. Scent does have that calming chamomile background but there's other elements that lift it and give it some freshness with that hint of earthiness from the Vetiver.
I've never used Blue Tansy before so I've no idea whether the blue holds or changes over time.

Wondering if you've gone back to review your batches after they've time to mature/settle after several weeks/months mate, and if so, if you've noted any performance differences.

Generally the soaps have improved with age with some attenuation of scent is the short answer.
I'm in the process of going back through the soaps and remaking bases, tweaking scent profiles, changing scent profiles to try and nail down at least six soaps that work. There are some candidates for exclusion straight up, the most obvious were soaps where I was testing the limits for low stearic content. I was just thinking today I need to be more methodical in trying to quantify performance for comparison. Me thinks I need a spreadsheet?:)
Or did you mean performance differences between batches rather than due to time? Yes, plenty of differences. The challenge will be if I identify all the good attributes of the various batches can I combine those into one SUPER SOAP BASE.
There are so many nice materials to work with (oils, butters etc) and it's nice having the luxury to play with them and try them. Fortunately not a lot of failures as the ingredients are expensive, like Tamanu which is dearer than some essential oils.

Nailed it and went beyond expectations for my curiosity :)
