It is with so much sadness that I convey to you all that our much loved friend, Draco Noir, passed away this morning. His life's journey is over.

Those of us who knew Tim intimately were aware of the battles with his health. He long endured and fought through daily bouts of pain that would have floored the strongest of us. Yet he bounced back with amazing enthusiam each time. His selfless character was to keep the true nature of his illnesses to himself as he never wanted to burden his friends.

What was quite evident to all that knew him was his extraordinary generosity, intellect, and his love of shaving. He started his shaving journey just like the rest of us and then forged his own way towards instruments and soaps that gave him most pleasure. A weekly Gentleman's Lunch Club was established with Tim front and centre. His wisdom and influence will have a lasting impact on @Osman and myself. He also forged lifetime friendships with @alfredus , @Mark and many of the Melbourne crew who he met with and kindly gifted some of his prized shaving instruments.

Tim leaves behind a loving family and friends who he touched in an extraordinary way. He will be greatly missed but always remembered.
 
Incredibly sad. He told me a month or two ago about his situation, I maybe thought the day would not come.
 
While I obviously didn't know Tim as well as some of the Melbourne crew I've had a bit to do with him over the years and he was a great bloke, generous and straightforward, he will be sorely missed.

Very sad to read this. Only had the pleasure of meeting him once but I've had a few dealings with him over my time here. A genuinely nice guy and he certainly will be missed. Condolences to his loved ones.
 
I had a few private conversations with Tim earlier this year.
He was very generous with his time and advice.
Maybe a small collection from those able to do so,and sent to a favourite charity in honour of Tim.
My prayers go to his family.
 
Very sad to hear this. I only had a couple of BST trades with Tim other than reading his wisdom on the forum but he was a great bloke to deal with - very helpful with suggestions and advice.

Condolences to the family...
 
Very saddened to hear this. Tim was always incredibly generous with his time and was the perfect mentor for many of us here. A huge loss.

I didn't know Tim personally but he was a top bloke on the forum and arguably had the classiest SOTD pics.

RIP Tim.
 
Indeed a very sad day. I did not know Tim as well as I would have liked. That being said I was fortunate enough to speak to him on a number of occasions and of course he was well liked and respected from everyone that knew him. He was a real gentleman both within our small community as well as the broader general community.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to his close friends and family.
 
Such a nice guy to talk to on the phone and despite his situation always conveyed a smile in his voice. Condolences to his family.
 
Very sad news. It was an honour to meet him during one of our previous meet-ups. A true Gentleman, who was incredibly generous and his SOTD photo's were always first class. Will have to toast to Tim (Draco Noir) in a future meet up. Condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace.
 
Had no idea of his health issues :( one of the members I held in very high regards and valued their thoughts and opinions. Very sad to hear and thoughts go out to his family.
 
Well guys, I have come home to this news, and it is indeed a sad day for me. This is a milestone that I hoped and prayed would never come, alas it was inevitable to happen. Tim is our second member to leave us that I am aware of. It was with a heavy heart that I needed to create a new usergroup, banner and put these into place on his account.

For those of you who are new here, Tim arrived here late January 2015 and for those that conversed with him both in public and behind the scenes then you already know what I am going to say next.

Tim was the ultimate gentleman. And for a banned word on the forum - you can all go for it in this thread as much as you want and get it out of your systems. Never a personal attack came from him, always a kind and encouraging word to the new members, always preaching about straights. Generous, with time, knowledge, and gear. For those that want a walk down memory lane, have a look at his introduction thread and see how right it was he found us at P&C. It's bringing a smile to my face as I go over it writing this post.

After I put up the call for someone to be the public face of the forum in Victoria, he stepped up to the plate and took it on and started some of the Melbourne meets. As he was a driver of that I am very thankful for his efforts as a nucleus of members started to meet and socialise in Melbourne. It was only October last year that he called time on that where the struggle was obviously becoming too great. He posted the following in our 'behind the scenes' thread which lets him sum himself up in two lines:

Possibly the most standout moment in my mind was The PIF that never was.... a massive debacle for us here as yet another thread that slid off the rails, and something he actually took very personally I am sad to say. However he still saw the lighter side:

I know some of the impacts that Tim had on many of you out there. Most of the older Melbourne members, anyone that wanted a straight or get one sharpened. Those that were in awe of his SOTD pictures which he was very proud to share with you. I know I am going to miss his posts, and I am sure you will too but it is nothing compared to what his immediate and extended family is feeling today. From bitter experience I know that just because someone has an terminal illness does not mean that 'getting prepared for the inevitable' makes it any easier to process that grief - if anything it makes it harder than from a sudden loss. My condolences to his family far and wide - @Lifes a Peach please pass these on to those that matter in the coming days. Leaving us at age 65 seems far too short of an innings.

For those in Melbourne who can, please go and represent the impact Tim's life had on you at his funeral. For those that cannot, I encourage you to all make a donation in Tim's name at the Cancer Council of Victoria if your finances allow.

When I die and my atoms become free, I hope they visit the universe I never got to see.

Tim was paramount in my wet shaving experience. His generosity and willingness to share his knowledge is well known to those who interacted with him either virtually or in person.

His passing leaves a big hole in wet shaving community. I'm glad I had a chance to share a little time with him.
