Hi Gents (@Substance @Pbgoose ), and any other str8 experts. Considering a birth year straight.
Is the concave blade intentional or a result of bad honing?

Thank @Pbgoose I was a bit dubious about this one.
There are a few other soviet 1966 straights on the Bay and Etsy but not committed yet.
Too heavily invested in DE razors and blades ATM but will seek a razor from @Substance when ready

I understand your position. Through shear bad planing but good luck, I purchased a Karve with 6 plates, 100 of each Kia, 7 O'clock black, Nacet blades and won a Gentleman's Monkey by @Substance. Then decided to grow a beard for 4 months, all in one year. Wife not overly impressed let me tell you.
However you definitely will not go wrong with one either made or prepared by him. They look beautiful and work very well. The most common comment I get from cart using friends is "that a nice ornament in the bathroom looks very nice but a little evil at the same time, you don't use it do you?". Oh yes I do and it works very well.

Hi @Don I remember the Gentleman's Monkey from the auction. It is definitely one deadly looking razor. If I eventually convert will end up with one of DC Blades custom Monkey's myself.

The lack of spine wear would indicate to me a possible chip repair, but a curved stone and not holding it flat my have also contributed to its shape
I would definately skip it if not free

Extremely bad repair/honing.

I have two of those and they are in very good condition. If you are interested contact me. I will hone it for you.
