Maybe, maybe not. There are lots of factors that could change the experience. In my case, I soak a flannel in hot water and hold it to my face for a slow count of 30 (until it begins to cool), warm it up again and plonk it on top of my head and leave it there while I load my brush. I then splash on some hot water and rub in some Pears soap and leave it there while I build my lather in the bowl. I then rinse it off with the wet flannel prior to lathering up my face and dome.Also there is a chance that with all those positive comments about Pears maybe my expectations where too high?
This all takes a while to describe, but apart from the first step, I'd be taking the same amount of time.
I concur with @rbscebu about the need to rinse it off, I don't believe Pears combines well with the actual lather.
