Thank you! I am glad you like my Mastro Livi straight razor. It is a razor I am very fond of: a magnificent shaver and, although it is a 9/8, it is absolutely easy to use and super performing.
I too love Myrsol, although my favorite aftershave is Floid, Vigoroso, in particular. Including my Bay Rum, of course! ;)

You like the Spanish aftershaves. Floïd is so good!
Have you tried both the Italian and Spanish versions of Floïd? What's the difference?

I tried all of the Floid aftershaves, both Spanish and Italian. The Spanish production is currently made of three versions - Suave, Vigoroso and Black - whereas the Italian one is made of just two: The Genuine and Blue. Spanish Floids are stronger in the menthol department and usually contain more alcohol than the Italian production.
Vigoroso is my favorite Spanish Floid; The Genuine is my favorite Italian. The Genuine is pretty similar to Spanish Suave, although the latter has more mentholated top notes. As for performance, they all are great and if you can stand the alcohol burning flames, go for Vigoroso!

Not sure about the Simpson yet. It was a lot smaller than I was expecting, and softer for that matter. Maybe I've been using Omega's for too long. Will have to try a few more shaves. I have to compare it with the FS shaving badger soon.
The jabonmans was not what I was expecting either. Never had a shaving soap I could pour onto the brush before. Nice clean lime aroma and a decent menthol hit. Good lather but I think it might get finished too quickly as the gel is that runny.

Great cooling when putting the face under the cold water afterwards. Don't know why you lot use anything other than menthol in the heat of the summer. It feels great.

This is the first I've tried - so keep that in mind with my comments.

It's got good strength scent and is quite complex. The scent is a highlight. It lathered quickly (but I did use a synthetic) and produced a top lather. This first shave I felt the lather was average on cushion. Glide was good, but not standout. (A high glycerine pre-shave would compliment it nicely.) Post-shave feel was good - but it doesn't have any additional ingredient specifically for moisturising or skin benefit. It does have a simple list of ingredients.

All in all, a good quality soap that would sits in the dense pack of top-quality artisan shaving soaps. Not standout, but not a slouch by any means.
 
It's Official. The razor I started with and championed in my more enthusiastic days, is no more. I gave the 34C a final run with a Feather, with a repacement head I had, wondering if it might mild it up.

It didn't. The 34C is permanently retired. I had to settle for a rough feeling ok shave, lest I do my face some hurt.

I would like a longer handle, the 30C is rather stumpy. Anyone know whether the long handled Merkurs would fit? a 23C is a 3 piece too, so it should. If not, I'd end up with a 23C which may or may not be as aggresive as the 34, as consensus is that all regular closed comb Merkur heads are the same.

Not in the case of my 34 and 30 they're not.

Webers are a pain in the arse to buy. You can't get them from amazon and they only sell handles on ebay. Which cost $65 delivered...

23C is $34 delivered.
 
Time to return.

Pre-Shave - Cussons English Leather - An uncommon choice but applied during the shower softens the beard and applies a smooth cushioning effect and base to build a lather upon.

Brush: What can I say - the tips are as soft as the hair on a new borns head allowing the initial application of the cream the be spread evenly across the shaving area. The more intensive brushing reveals a steely back bone like an old persons pubic hair that massage the cream into a frenzied lather. (I can speak about such thing as I am an old person).

Razor: Why change form the greatest razor ever made - Slim on 7.

Blade: No point in changing a winning combination - Slick schick

AS : Taylors of Old Bond Street (if you will excuse the expression "A superb Gentleman's Aftershave" and I am nothing if not a Superb Gentleman.

Result: Never in the history of shaving has there been an easier smoother or more satisfactory shave. I must be really really good.

Hmmm...stainless steel vs zumak? You'll buy the former once, the latter...well maybe once only too but it's just not as cool.
P.S., the head of the Weber is a better geometry than any metal offerings from Merkur, Muhle, Edwin Jagger, etc.
