Two packages landed. One from Manuel and the other a local delivery. Manuel kindly included a sample of Rosa-Oud (which I have seen described as his "masterpiece"). I'm not normally a fan of rose scents, as I tend to find them cloying, but the darkness of the oud really gives this some depth and weight. Performance, of course, will be superb. The Tobacco is a very dry, green scent that I'll be thrashing over the cooler months. I picked up the Proraso Green as it was on special and I have not previously tried it...

I've got quite a few Yaqi samples and a full tub of black pearl.Shopping for homegoods on Aliexpress, got caught out during their thrice annual 'anniversary' sale. Picked up a few things.
Yaqi Pilot. Long story short, does not shave at all like the Merkur 34C. Way more blade feel and aggression (efficiency). Some may like that if they felt the regular 34C is too mild. I'm of two minds. While I liked the fact that it is its own razor and not a 34C copy, my search for a stainless 34C continues (probably will eventually pull the trigger on the INOX 34C, but that's double the price of this one). I also picked up the Thot. For the more aggressive razor, it actually felt it had less blade feel than the Pilot.
And also some Yaqi soaps. I wasn't super impressed with the last ones, and this bunch didn't exactly change my mind. Scents maybe dupes, but they feel so generic, it feels as though all the soaps smell the same. Very one note. Performance is good, as expected from Master Soap Creations. It is very thirsty. Be prepared to keep adding more and more water until you get it as slick as you want it. The sale price with coupons and coins set me back only $13 per soap (but I'd never pay the full $40 for one).
I find they all have quite distinct scents and perform absolutely wonderful.
I rate them as top teir.
And yes AliExpress coins are great aren't they

I'm never going to declare a sabbatical again. If I succeed (as indeed I did last year, banner notwithstanding), I'm marked for failure at the outset, and I can only enjoy revelling in a properly earned and justified failure. If I embark on a 2027 sabbatical, I'm not telling anyone until at least 2028.
