Excellent Advice. I am now Evil SyD.

Perma sharp super took a hammering taking the beard off. It was ridiculously smooth by the end with almost zero cutting power. Interesting finding!

Didn't try the Ingrams as I didn't think haciking off a breard would be fair play to it's capabilities.

Muahahhahaha.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Ingrams. Can't beat an invigorating menthol uppercut

Getting bored time for a change

So I am going to buy an electric razor :)

No not really but I feel I have this TM shaving pretty much under control and ,as long as I keep the blades sharp, I get a consistently good shave. Brushes I tend to use what is nearby and soaps or creams whatever my eyes alight upon, although I do have several soaps I havent opened yet, a WMF a Colonel Cronks and one I purchased from MR Knife. Anyway as I was looking at the various bits and pieces I have accumulated I thought why not give them all a turn. So I shall sort through the various razors and blades and begin to see what I may have been missing (as a cowardly type I shall keep a sharp SE and the Slim close by in case I hit disaster). My ability to name the razors is limited (as PJ points out so kindly my pharmaceutical intake exceeds my food intake and I often have to hold my drivers licence up to the mirror to check the name on it is actually me :)) so I shall post a photo of the current regime as well as an apprpriate review so you can all loook forward to being bored spitless (cause I got a shitload of razors as those who remember my early journeys on Ebay can attest).

Post up some pics and we will do some IDing

Is this the beginning of the end of TM shaving?

OR the begininning of the new, improved TM Method - now with added sex appeal ;)

Back on topic...

Today was a great shave.

Progress on 4
Voskhod on its third shave - three seem to be the sweet spot for these blades lately.
Arko stick
Semogue brush
Finished with a spray of "Sexual" cologne. It's a Canadian scent...not to say it smells of Canadians, rather it is made in Canadia.

The Arko lathers like a demon, the smell is fine with me. I asked HRH to smell the soap and tell me if it reminded her of a men's urinal cake, to which she replied "how the fk should I know". I think there's something in that for all of us.
Did two passes and I felt wildly invigorated for minutes.

Knocked over the weekends growth this AM....

A nice TM affair with a fresh GEM blade in the JR.

3rd shave in Spoiler in the 34C.

MWF ..... Or WMF as it now so aptly named :p

Usual TGN brush....

All in all was a decent shave, I went a little crazy with the SE so ended up with some urn on the mouth/chin area.

INGRAM'S MENTHOL SHAVING CREAM
Semogue 830 - Apparently the 23mm knot is really like 10mm with a lot of splay you know!
Merkur 34C
Schleeek Sheeek (8.5-9)
Alum
L'oreal ASB

Um...couldn't remember what blade I had in the 34C and just had at it. Thought it was a second shave PSS. Nope...checked after the shave and it was the original Schicky from way back. These blades are ridonkulous.

Easy 2 passer. Enjoyed the new shave cream. Good times.

Been using the slim with various blades. The gillette blades I've tried all work better in the slim for me, including the yellow being a great improvement. Exception may be the Vokshod, didn't cut as well. Soaps vary every day

INGRAM'S MENTHOL SHAVING CREAM
Vie-Long Horsey/Badger
Merkur 34C
Schleeek Sheeek (9.5-10)
L'oreal ASB

The schick feels like it still has plenty of life left #gobsmacked

Started my adventure through the unknown razors and blades today. A little silver Gillette TTO (pics to follow) and a yellow BIC blade thanks to boogeyman . All went very well - no need to resort to the emergency Slim at all. I will be curious to see how long this blade lasts - first shave felt totally non-threatening - I could scrape and burrow into corners without any feeling that is was about to bite me ( bit like a 4th shave Spoiler or Slick Schick).

Anyway the journey will continue.

Great first shave with the iKon OSS and a Personna Lab Blue. This base plate is extremely mild and comfortable on the safety bar side, and slightly more aggressive on the open comb. Having never used an open comb before on a DE, I gave myself a weeper on the neck. It'll be handy when I haven't shaved for a while and need to cut down a bit of growth. The Bulldog handle is quite weighty in the hand, but it balances well and does encourage you to use the weight of the razor instead of applying pressure. I already feel that this is a good buy, it'll be great with the sharp blades that I've come to favor.

While my dad is in Europe, I was allowed three shaves with his Simpson Colonel X2L. This is a great brush, the handle is comfortable and keeps the lather off your hand. The knot isn't hugely dense, but for the size, I think it's almost exactly right. It releases lather better than my Duke 2, but does require a little bit more manual labor to produce it in the first place. It was good with the Proraso soap, but not standout. It was exceptional with the Omega cream, which is also a quality product.

I had an SE shave the other day. I was going to go for a TM shave, but the first pass was so good I thought I'd keep going. GEM blade in a Featherweight. Cut easy, cut smooth, no irritation. Kinda makes me wonder why I'm screwing around with different DE razors and blades.

First shave with my recently acquired '69 Black Beauty.
5 days of growth to mow down...
At the end of my shower, rubbed my Palmolive shave stick over the face and then scrubbed up a nice lather with my Semogue TSN LE.
Set the razor to 6, loaded with a new 7OC Black and went at it.
Nice shave, rather mild, even at that setting. Dialled back to a 4 for my upper lip.
Re-lathered for the second pass (XTG) and stayed at 4 on the razor - tidied things up nicely.

No nicks or weepers. Not even the slightest hint of irritation.
My ONLY complaint about the Black Beauty is that it's rather light, particularly the handle. If the handle could be made heavier, it'd be a excellent razor.
