 1805 AS

T&H 1805 // Morris & Fiordran CHS Antique Ivory // Alpha Futura Bronze // 1805 AS

Saturday Evening 8/03/25

  • Razor : TGS Syntesi SS DE (Italy)
  • Blade : Wizamet super iridium. (2)
  • Brush : Yaqi caramel cat's whiskers synthetic.
  • Soap : Master Soap Creation's Tabacchi (tallow base).
  • Bahm : Lucky Tiger Bay Rum.
  • Razor weight : 100 grams.
Hi all,
A lovely shave this evening with the Goodfellas' smile Syntesi SS I picked this one up with the help of a
fellow P&C member.
The Syntesi gives a good smooth and importantly close shave but with a amazing mild feel for an efficient razor like this.
(This shave was on a 4 day growth as I was on nightshift .)
So the Syntesi wasn't taking on a 1 day quick clean up.
The razor itself felt very familiar in my hand as it is very similar is size to the Gillette super speed flare tip.
One pass WTG/ATG done.
"Smooth as silk"
Once again @Errol was right on the money with the TGS Syntesi.
Enjoy your shave.
Cheers.

Monday Afternoon 10/03/25

  • Razor : Yaqi Ghost TI 90 DC. (Duel Comb) "First Use"
  • Blade : Feather Hi-Stainless.(1)
  • Brush : Yaqi Ocean 28mm synthetic.
  • Soap : Rustic Art Lavender Charcoal. (Hard Puck)
  • Aftershave : Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum.
  • Razor weight : 58 grams.
Hi all,
I had a lovely shave this afternoon with the Yaqi Ghost TI 90 DC.
This is the first Titanium razor have ever owned I picked it up second hand recently.
The first thing that drew me to it was the duel comb design of the head which is unlike
any other razor I have or have owned.
Today I used the safety bar side only and I have to say the shave was very smooth and efficient.
I will use the open comb side for my next shave just to compare.
In my opinion easily as smooth as the TGS Syntesi in my last SOTD maybe even a bit smoother hard to tell.
The thing that stuck me was on the first stroke of the WTG pass it was a no brainer no angle
adjustment at all witch can be common when using an unknown razor for the first time.
Being so light weight (58 grams) I wondered if inexperienced wet shavers could mistakenly apply
pressure if they had only used stainless or solid brass razors witch may result in nicking or cutting themselves.
The in hand feel weight wise felt similar to vintage Gillette's. (very pleasing)

The soap was good to but I realized I should of brush loaded it not bowl lathered.
Lovely relaxing fragrance during the shave.

Cheers.

How's the soap? Did Mrs Gargravarr finds you smelling super sexy lavender enough for her approval?

Lavender is just part of the mix with this one, I reckon the scent is a fougère. But it is a bright, lavender-forward fougère, strength is about as much as I would want (I don't care for super-strong scents). Mme G hasn't smelt it yet (and I have a feeling she won't like it), but I've been working it hard, and I'm getting through it a bit faster than I would like. That's what happens when I don't keep too many soaps in rotation at any time.

I would say performance is at least equal to the very best I have ever had from any artisan soap, no matter whether tallow-based or not. It's nothing short of superb. If Manuel ever makes a pure-lavender soap on this base, I'll be jumping on to it.

No such thing as a daily touch up here. It's a full shave, and because it's daily, I have to take just a little bit of care not to overdo it. I usually find shaving a 4 day growth much easier, and quicker to achieve a proper GBS (*)

* For newer members: Goddess Boobies Smooth - a term coined by our late and much-missed friend @Mastropiero

This is your opinion, of course @Gargravarr
I generally like to shave every second day, but if I shave in between because I’m going out somewhere and want to keep the missus happy, that’s what I refer to as a daily touchup still a full shave😀
Cheers.
