I agree with that statement too. I have a few others.
Most of the time the British Gillette’s fly underneath the radar, I think the reason is the massive amount of focus on the American versions
After all, stainless steel was invented in Sheffield, England
And so many other things, we’d be a long way behind as well. If they didn’t have the industrial revolution over there I don’t think that’s appreciated enough.

The invention of stainless steel followed a series of scientific developments, starting in 1798 when chromium was first shown to the French Academy by Louis Vauquelin. In the early 1800s, British scientists James Stoddart, Michael Faraday, and Robert Mallet observed the resistance of chromium-iron alloys ("chromium steels") to oxidizing agents. Robert Bunsen discovered chromium's resistance to strong acids. The corrosion resistance of iron-chromium alloys may have been first recognized in 1821 by Pierre Berthier, who noted their resistance against attack by some acids and suggested their use in cutlery.

Sunday afternoon 2/03/25

  • Razor : YinTal YT-TRD (Bronze alloy China)
  • Blade : Voskhod Teflon coated. (1)
  • Brush : Yaqi caramel cat's whiskers synthetic.
  • Soap : Arko stick
  • Aftershave : Lucky Tiger Bay Rum
  • Razor weight : 103 grams. (originally 112 grams but the handle was unbalanced so I cut of 10mm)
Hi all,
Just a quick clean up so I can take the wife out to a local Thai restaurant (I normally shave every 2nd day).
The YinTal was a gift ( available on AliExpress) It gave me an ok shave but this was 24 hours growth only.
This is my 2nd shave with the razor the 1st one I used the "Original cube pre shave soap" witch combined
with the shave soap gummed up the razor and buggered up the shave.

Keeping with the budget theme from @Bladerunner7 I used the Arko stick also called The Piss Stick by a
well know member.🤫
It lathers up well in the bowl and worked well even though the scent is questionable.
I drowned that in Lucky tiger bay rum.

Never understood why TI were so popular until now. This blades a keeper but needs a good cleanup and new set of scales.
Sliced through 11 days of growth in a single pass.
 
MONDAY NIGHT SHAVE

Had an lovely two pass BBS shave . The razor head used was the Yaqi Beast in Zamak, a super smooth and high efficiency shaving tool, anything but the Beast. The handle is a Yintal Stainless Steel handle, love the weight and feel of it. The Denton Magik 'Fraiche Eau Mel' was very refreshing and is a terrific soap in terms of performance. My brush for the shave was the Frank Shaving Pur-Tec Pro which features the G9 knot, just 24 mm but it is a lather monster. The fibers of the Brush are very badger like in behavior but not as luxurious. The Viriato after shave handcrafted by Jose Martinez in Spain was a perfect soothing finish to the shave. The balm is lightly woody with a touch of leather, suede and vetiver.

  • Bahm : Thayers witch hazel unscented.
  • Razor weight : 108 grams.
Hi all,
I had a superb shave tonight with the Apex SS I have had this Razor for about four months this is shave number five I think.
This razor is so smooth and efficient In my opinion I feel it shaves as close as the Black Bird SS but smoother with a little
less blade feel.
The weight of the razor is perfect as I feel like the its shaving by its self and I just guide it (Its really that good)
I have only used Wizamet's in the razor so far its just as good 1st and 2nd shave and only drops of a bit on the 3rd.
I am sure it will perform just as well with other sharp blades in my stash.
One pass WTG/AGT no touch ups.
Absolutely irritation free smooth as silk I didn't even need the Bahm but used it anyway.
@Errol was right on the money it is Superb.

The Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum & Sweet Orange is is a really nice soap it lathers up thick and doesn't dry out
with great cushioning and post shave feel.
