I've obviously been going quite hard on this soap, I'm almost halfway through the tub already...

Why do you always load your brush quite hard, just gently swirl from the top layer of the soap with a bit of water as you go, until you get the amount of lather just pasty enough on your brush. Then start building up the lather as you go along with water, until it becomes thick and slick to your prefer requirement.

How much lather leftover do you wasted down the bloody drain.

I've only managed a dozen shaves and am yet to get below the lip of the jar.

Remember, I shave both head and face daily, so that uses up a lot of soap. Plus, I shower afterwards, using any leftover lather to soap up, so I don't waste anything.

I don't really agree with the approach in those videos. He obviously loads quite heavily too, and blooming the soap is both wasteful and unnecessary. And my shave would take forever if I stood there staring at a brush in a mug for that long.
