My guess, given that it is Yasuki steel, is that it was a commemorative razor given to faculty or prize students at the Japanese equivalent of a polytech. I have no way of knowing for sure, though, as it dates back to the 1960's.

Yeah, this was a real test for me, luckily my face feels ok probably because of the mild razors chosen and only doing 2.5 passes instead of my nornal 3.5

I'm back to my normal 2 days growth (or 3), this one was a two day growth.

Shave Report: This LEA cream performed surprisingly well and could be even better than Proraso cream (the green one anyway). To my nose the lather scent is a fresh greenish menthol aroma, bit like a cross between Palmolive cream and Proraso Green, scent strength 4/10. The Yaqi Ghost + Wizamet blade gave me a clean, smooth and efficient DFS, 3 passes with no clean-up pass required, the razor looks a bit like a cross between the Henson and Apex razors and feels like it has some positive blade exposure.

Hi all,
I had an excellent shave with the Star Razor.
Weight is 57 grams and possible gold plated.
I could find little to no info on this razor apart from It says they were made by the same company that
made Eveready and Gem razor.
I have had this razor for years and never used it looks like its never been used till now.
I picked it up very cheap many years ago.
To my surprize It shaved very close and smooth .
I also noticed its got notched pins on the top cap that help to clap the blade tight
maybe this is one of the reasons it shaves so well.
My normal two pass shave close and easy.
