Correct me if I'm wrong, but I sort of understood that the katana uses Ā½-DE blades, which I've never tried. If I were to go down that track, I would probably go back to German Wilkies or Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Yellows, both of which were my go-to blades when I did DE.

As it is, I have bulk quantities of Schick Proline and Personna GEM Stainless blades that I fully expect to outlast me, so any others that I occasionally get in are purely experimental.

  • Blade : Wizamet Iridium Super Extra Stainless.
  • Brush : B&B Synthetic Chubby.
  • Soap : Crazy pumpkin by Areffa Soaps.
  • Balm : Thayers witch hazel aloe vera.
  • Weight : 71 grams
Hi all smooth shave this afternoon with the slim set on 5.
Its the first time I have used the Wizamet blade it was recommended to me by
a fellow member.
I must say they are very good it will be interesting to see how many shaves
before the blade becomes dull. (can't wait to try in another razor)
The slim always feels good in the hand except today It felt a little light after using the TGS ss.
The Crazy Pumpkin soap actually filled the bathroom and hallway with the nicest scent.

Pre-shave; Warm shower, face rinse with MWF bar soap.
Brush; TroyCraft, ā€˜ā€™Gold n Jarā€™ā€™ Jarrah hardwood and pure Gold flake resin handle, highly polished with a CA finish and a 26mm (x TF), 2 band Finest Badger knot (Brush No 4)
Soap; Areffa, Discovery, Bear based tallow.
Razor; Lambda, Athena ā€˜ā€™Bronze goddessā€. Presentation & Performance equals Perfection!! IMHO.
Blade; Bic Astor.
Post-shave; Areffa, Discovery A/S milk.
