After a solid three-week run with the same kit, the blade finally started to show signs of fatigue—still serviceable, but not quite the same edge it once had. With that chapter closed, I decided it was time to revisit an old favorite: the vintage GEM razor.
There’s something undeniably satisfying about the weight, balance, and tactile feedback of these classic single-edge razors. Paired with some equally timeless accoutrements, the shave felt less like routine and more like ritual. There's a rhythm to it that modern gear often lacks—deliberate, grounded, and nostalgic in all the right ways.
Sometimes, stepping back into the past delivers exactly the kind of shave you didn’t know you needed.
