Farewell Shave

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Cream: Santa Maria Novella
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Swede (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Proraso Green Splash
Scent: Musgo Real Classic

On Friday evening, I lost my dearest friend, after a ten year battle with cancer. I was privileged to be holding his hand as he slipped away. We were inseparable since schoolboys.
He was a passionate wet shaver, but too shy to do much posting.

His Wife asked me if I could shave him on his final day; a great honour that I gladly accepted. Unfortunately, his birth razor was at his home. He had a two week growth, so I needed some blade gap.
The Futur was one of his favourite razors, so I packed it up with a selection of gear and headed to the hospital, where I shaved him, and stayed with him until the end.

Tonight, I reproduce the shave, as a tribute to my dear friend.

Rest easy, my Brother.

Brush: TF Custom Clear/Black/Yellow 26mm 2 band Finest badger
Razor: Italian Barber Game Changer .84P
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (5)
Soap: Whispers from the Woods All Things Nice
Pre: Shower + Prickly Pear mentholated pre-shave soap
Post: APR Escentials Restoration // Stirling Soap Co. Unscented Balm
ATG, XTG, ATG = near BBS

A quick pre-work shave this morning so no photo. Upon advice from @SpeedyPC I decided to give this soap a try and initial impressions are very positive. The soap performs very well with nice slickness and excellent post shave feel with a truly delicious scent. First sniff and I get a strong honey smell with slight sandlewood that reminds me of caramel jersey candy. I'm glad I listened to the advice and hope to try the other scents once I get through some existing soaps.
I finally managed to finish the hand me down balm from @tullfan and luckily have some in reserve to tide me over... Happy shaves!
