What's you're favourite basic (every day) all year round aftershave or post-shave.

you can drive anything.
Bet he couldn't drive a manual truck from 10 to 24 gears, for example

I was just about to say jumping straight from a manual car to a truck with an 18-speed Road Ranger box might be a bit of a challenge. But there you have a couple of controls on the side of the gearstick to select your range, so the pattern is comparatively simple, you just have to be ready to double-declutch or float the gears.

20 drops of Natural Plant Glycerin

5 drops of Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic

Has anyone tried the alcohol free version of the TN Dickinson witch hazel that also includes hyaluronic acid and vitamin E?

If the tea tree is an antiseptic, I see minimal role for the alcohol and I find it very drying. More vitamin E is great or the additive can be scaled back, and hyaluronic acid is recommended by dermatologists for skin barrier repair. In conjunction with a basic moisuriser (like the QV ceramide lotion 350ml for $10) with niacinamide and ceramides and you are ticking all the boxes pretty cheaply.

As a head shaver with some surface area to cover this is looking pretty economical to me.

Also - no reason that some old fashioned alcohol aftershaves like Floid The Original couldn't be supplemented with vitamin E and glycerin, right?

No… I haven’t tried the alcohol free TN Dickinson witch hazel, I can only get what’s available at my local area.

You need some alcohol which helps close your pores, the tea tree is an antiseptic it’s an extra backup to kill bacteria, germs, ingrown hairs and yellow pimples.

Tea tree is an antiseptic that doesn’t close your pores, only alcohol or an alum block helps close your pores.

The pores in your skin do not pop open and close like organ stops. If you google a question like "why does alcohol aftershave sting?" you will often get a moronic (and circular) response that "alcohol stings your face after shaving". That's because nobody actually has an answer that stands up to scrutiny.

Tea tree oil will not kill ingrown hairs or yellow pimples, whatever those might be. It's doubtful that it will even do much to kill bacteria, given that your skin will already be pretty much clean and bug-free after shaving. But if you like it, that's cool

Alum blocks don't do anything like the same thing as witch hazel, and neither have anything to do with closing pores. That said, just do whatever makes you feel good.

I like the standard TND witch hazel (applied liberally prior to moisturiser), but I did try the so-called "alcohol-free" version (bought by accident) a few months ago, and didn't think much of it. But different strokes for different folks.
